Award winning architect Richard Sellers of Continuum Architecture creates “architecture of imagination and creativity, sitting comfortably in the environment”. Wife Katie looks after the accounts, and they both rely on Alison for their annual accounting checks and in an advisory role.
Richard gained experience working in large, medium and small architectural practices in New Zealand and the UL before starting his own practice in Nelson. Last year the company expanded to become Continuum Architecture.
Beautiful simplicity, buildings that reflect serenity and carefully designed interior spaces to accommodate life are qualities inherent in their work. Art is a vital part of the creative process and Richard’s skills as an artist underpin all his thinking as a designer.
Earlier this year Richard won an architectural competition to design a simple cost-effective house for post-earthquake Canterbury. Dubbed The Cantabrian, his winning design will be built as a show home and later sold to Housing New Zealand. The design will have fast-track consent anywhere in New Zealand.
